Homemade: Baking Mix

Yay for a new homemade solution! This mix can be used in place of Bisquick. I particularly enjoy using it to make these cinnamon roll biscuits. We made them on Christmas morning 2012 and they were so, so good, we decided that was our new Christmas morning tradition!

Here's what you need to make homemade baking mix:

  • 5 cups of flour
  • 4 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 1/8 cup powdered milk
  • 1/2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 1 1/8 cup coconut oil or shortening
Here's how you make homemade baking mix:
  1. Mix all dry ingredients together in a storage container.
  2. Cut in shortening or oil until you have fine crumbs.
  3. Store in a cool place.
