In the Kitchen with Jason: Cinnamon Apple Crisp

Crisps are one of my favorite comfort desserts but you have to make sure to make the topping is right or else there is no reason to make it at all. This recipe has a quite good crumb topping that is easy to make and even easier to eat. We found this recipe in the Eat What You Love cookbook.

  • 2 pounds of apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup Splenda, divided
  • 1 1/4 tsp cinnamon, divided
  • 1/4 cup + 1 Tbsp flour, divided
  • 6 Tbsp rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp cold butter, cut into about 12 little squares
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
  • Mix the apples, 1/4 cup Splenda, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and 1 Tbsp of flour together in a large bowl.
  • In a different bowl mix remaining Splenda, remaining cinnamon, remaining flour, oats, graham cracker, and brown sugar.
  • Cut in the butter with a fork until the butter is the size of peas.
    • This will take a couple of minutes.
  • Spray an 8 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Line the bottom of the dish with the apples and cover the apples evenly with the crumb topping.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Cool slightly and serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
Please enjoy!
