Ingredients
- 1 Bar Fels Naptha soap
- 1 Cup Borax
- 1 Cup super washing soda
Directions
- Shred the soap with a cheese grater or food processor. (The smaller the pieces, the better; if you pulverize it into a powder, you win)
- Mix all ingredients
Add 1 tablespoon of the laundry soap to the washing machine. I'd also just like to note that even though grating soap sounds strange and impossible, it's really like grating a block of cheese so don't let that scare you off from trying this. Also, you can use any bar of soap you want, but we have found that Fels Naptha works the best.
Enjoy!

I love this idea! Do you know if this would work on my HE washer? I've only every used HE liquid detergent but would love to try this as long as it doesn't mess up my washer.
My sister-in-law has an HE washer and has used this in hers, so it should work okay!
I have an HE front loader and it never completely rinses out of the soap drawer. I just throw a TBS in on top of my clothes, right in the washing maching drum.
