Homemade dryer sheets

Here is a quick tip for the do it yourselfer. Mix about 1 cup each liquid fabric softener and water. Then, soak about 6 washcloths in the mixture. We used green washcloths that were getting old, and as they were the only green ones we owned, they are easily noticeable in the loads.

Put the wet washcloths in an air tight container. If you don't, the smell will knock you out after awhile. Then, when drying a load of laundry, put one of these homemade dryer sheets in the load. Each washcloth is good for 4 loads. This is a quick and easy way to cut way back on fabric softener/dryer sheet costs and you still get that nice softened feel with the laundry.

Hope it works as good for you as it did for us. We don't use them much anymore since we put up our clothes line, but they help make our blankets and sheets soft.

LOVE DIY things....I keep little sponges in the softener/water mixture, squeeze them out and add them to the dryer...works for me. Thanks for sharing your homemade hints...very helpful!
